Bob Marley Fans Can Look Forward To New Music
Bob
Marley fans can look forward to new music. Marley's family
recently discovered they have cassette recordings of Marley
songs that were never released. Marley's son Ziggy Marley
said the tunes are being worked on and should be out by
next year.
Ziggy said, "Next year, we are probably gonna have
some new material from Daddy for the world. So we're working
on that."
Bob Marley, whose hits included "One Love/People
Get Ready," and "Who Shot The Sheriff,"
died of cancer in 1981.
Ziggy Marley successfully followed in his father's footsteps,
and just released his first solo album, Dragonfly.

Ziggy Marley Expects Lawsuit Over Dad's Music To Be Settled
Ziggy Marley, son of late reggae great Bob Marley, expects
there to be settlement in a lawsuit over royalties from
his dad's music. Aston "Familyman" Barrett, a
former member of Bob Marley & The Wailers, is claiming
that he's been cheated of proper recognition and financial
reward for years. Ziggy hopes the suit is settled amicably,
and said he has great respect for Familyman.
"It will be sorted out, I think, peacefully, and
amicably for everybody," Ziggy said. "And, you
know that's what we hope for. I respect Familyman to the
highest."
However,
Ziggy added the dispute over the royalties could have
and should have been resolved before his father's death
from cancer in 1981.
"These
things could have been dealt with," Ziggy said. "And,
when my father was here it should have been dealt with
then, than when he's not here. It's kind of weird when
he is not here to start saying things that you probably
wouldn't say if he was here."
Ziggy
discussed the suit as he promoted the April 15 release
of his first solo album, Dragonfly.
Ziggy
will launch his first-ever solo tour to promote the set.
The 27-city club tour will kick off at Belly Up in San
Diego on May 17. For more info on the tour, go to ziggymarley.com.
